Regulation of relations between shipowner and maritime agent

A maritime agent company which has been established and registered in St. Petersburg, has addressed us for development of universal draft of maritime agency agreement. Main issues for consideration were speed of conclusion of contract, security for payment of reward, unacceptability of occurrence of debt, right to arrest the vessel even if it has been sold to person not liable to a maritime agent. 

Our services in the case

A complex study of company’s working practice has been performed: mistakes in approach have been highlighted. Standard form of adhesion contract has been drafted in English and Russian languages. Additionally, standard forms of agent’s report and act have been drafted. All documents have been negotiated with currency control service. In maritime agency agreement a right was guaranteed for receiving of reward, including in case of change of shipowner.
